National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee Announces New Platinum Training Partner: Lutron

Coopersburg, PA (September 18, 2012) – Light control manufacturer Lutron Electronics is pleased to announce its partnership with the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC), a joint program between the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). With this announcement, Lutron joins the NJATC, one of the largest apprenticeship and training programs of its kind, in supporting a long-term commitment to education and training of the next generation of electrical workers.
As a platinum NJATC training partner, Lutron’s sponsorship includes:
- support for development of a blended-learning light control curriculum
- creation of an energy-focused training program called the Lutron Academy for Energy-Saving Light Control that will educate the electrical contracting industry on new business opportunities
- equipment donations, training materials and presentations
- scholarships and awards
- instructional design support with access to Lutron subject matter experts
- serving as event hosts at Lutron offices and experience centers across the United States and Canada
The finest electrical workers in the country receive their training through local joint apprenticeship training committees utilizing the standardized education programs developed by the NJATC for the electrical industry. The NJATC is a model education partnership which produces the best-trained, most up-to-date electrical apprentices and journeymen in the country.
The Lutron-support, blended-learning curriculum will include:
- light sources and light control basics
- sensing technologies and application
- window systems
- digital ballasts and LEDs
- building control system integration and technologies
