For more than 60 years the nation’s multiemployer defined benefit pension plans have provided a secure retirement to America’s working families. Unfortunately, increasing unpredictability for maintaining multiemployer defined benefit pension plans are creating uncontrollable risks for construction employers. Changes to multiemployer plan rules are needed now and must address employers’ cost concerns if retirement income security is to be maintained. Learn about what is happening in Washington DC and how key decisions are being made to reform the current system and keep it viable for the foreseeable future.
