Speaker: James R. Benya, P.E.

Date: Saturday, September 29, 2012
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Description:

Lighting controls are one of the next major advances in commercial lighting.  With the advent of digital and wireless networks, the complications of new light sources like LED's, increasing initiatives from utility companies, and new code requirements mandating advanced controls, contractors and electricians will be expected to rise to the occasion and acquire new skills and expertise at an unprecedented rate of change.
This three hour workshop will explain the most important up-to-date information including:
  • The latest in lighting controls technology, including the leading edge products to follow, the bleeding edge issues to avoid, and recommendations on how to stay up on evolving technology.
  • Hidden costs and hidden savings – design, production selection and installation strategies
  • Using NECA's NEIS to help prepare for this new world of controls with newly developed NECA 504 and other documents.
  • The success of the CAL-CTP training program and its evolution into NAL-CTP as training
  • Case stories:  Lighting controls done well, lighting controls gone bad, what makes controls hard to do, and how to minimize installation and start up problems.

Fee: $145

Please note that every state handles licensure and continuing education credits differently. To avoid confusion, NECA strongly recommends you check with your state authority whether they will grant these CEUs for management education programs held at NECA 2012 Las Vegas.
