Labor is the biggest variable cost on most electrical construction costs and this fast-paced class describes some of tactics that can be used to improve production. The ideas come from the real-world experiences of the facilitator who started his career in the field working his way through the electrical apprenticeship program and eventually into an executive management position at an ENR Top 600 firm before founding a consulting firm in 2005. Those experiences as an electrician, foreman and contractor are now augmented by experiences from multiple consultants working with clients across the country observing best and more importantly worst practices in labor productivity. The class covers ideas including talent differentiation, skill-gap analysis, material logistics, key things that impact productivity and a daily planning and tracking system that can be put into practice immediately.

Learning Outcomes: Participants will learn the razor thin margins that electrical subcontractors work on and how a series of very minor improvements to labor productivity can dramatically lower costs allowing the contractor to attain more work, grow the business and ultimately create more jobs.
